MH040 PJC Project ft. Roman Zawodny - Night Muzik
The 40th release from on fire Mad Hatter Recordings comes from fast rising star and Carl Cox favourite PJC Project feat. Roman Zawodny on vox.
The original tracks serve up a rolling slice of future tech music with a decidedly otherworldy feel. As a paranoid vocal fades in and out, rattling percussion adds weight to the breakdowns whilst the incessant up-down drum beat keeps things moving forwards. It's the sort of tribal flecked fair you might find dropped into a Loco Dice set or hear at a Cocoon party out in Ibiza.
On the remix is another new comer and Malfunktion Records boss, Type 1, whose recent releases have gained some much deserved support from Ritchie Hawtin. And you can see why - this rerub has some of the aqueous, drip-drop hallmarks of minimal whilst a boisterous bassline romps down below. The vocal keeps your mind engaged but this one is all about the drop mid way through which urges you to dance.
Finally comes a remix from the label boss Carl Anians and Mark Holmes - both producers very much in the ascendancy and people who can count major players like Dubfire, Cox and Van Dyke as fans, to name but a few - and it's the most headsdown offering on this package. With an instant, rounded sonic richness it sweeps you up, folds you into its propulsive midriff and doesn't let up.
Yet more fine dancefloor fodder from Mad Hatter Recordings.
