After Chris Liebing came to King King in July and brought with him not only the Summer heat, but also the most absolute techno debacle Los Angeles has seen in quite some time, DAMAGED GOODS now looks to slow it down and sex it up August 13 with the LA debut of the Parisian priestess of minimal techno - JENNIFER CARDINI, who’s example has paved the way for a whole generation of French female DJ's. She’s a musical aficionado for whom only one thing counts: playing the right track at the right time. She’s been imposing her tomboy style behind the European decks for over ten years now, and began producing a genre of avant-garde electro-punk after meeting Miss Kitten & S*x Toy and starting the P*ssy Killers Duo. This music was the blueprint for Pulp club, Fany, Chloe...the girls to breathe new life into Parisian clubbing at the end of the 90’s. After moving to Paris, Cardini became a resident of the Automatik night at the Rex club. It’s there where she connects to a new German sound, being one of the first deejays to play this melancholy, sexy, stripped-down elegance over French dancefloors. She shines in small intimate connoisseur venues as well as the most prestigious clubs, without forgetting the major international festivals. She’s remixed for and been remixed by the likes of Jamie Jones, Sebo K, Anja Schneider, Radioslave, Shonky and Dirt Crew, and has seen releases on Cocoon, Mobilee, Crosstown Rebels, Kompakt, Dirt Crew, and Kill the DJ. Her performance at King King promises to be one you’ll not soon forget.
Bringing us up to speed on this exquisite night of grooves will be Culprit labelheads DROOG- who’s label is currently taking the dance music scene by storm- as well as Deeper Moods’ Daddy DARIUS ALEKSANDAR, and Harmonic and Avalon residents DELINQUENT FREQUENCY.
