Catching Digweed at Space on Tue night, and Pacha on either Mon or Wed depending on the prices/line ups. Seaman is at Privilege as well, may try and get to that.

I cannot remember - are you allowed to take cameras into Space?

I know you wern't alowed to back in the 90's I would think now its no longer a problem. I've seen loads of photos of Space on friends Facebook pages that don't look like they where done on mobile phones. Simonr will be able to tell you for sure

Probably gonna get banned from MS, but I MISSED Digweed believe it or not.

Was on the beers all day, got to Space about 12 - it was ridiculously packed, dangerous even - and rocked out to Fatboy Slim in the main room, who was absolutely amazing. Went looking for Digweed and couldnt find him - I was so drunk I had to bail out, plus it was just so busy you couldnt enjoy the dancing.

Left at 4am, then found out that Digweed started just after that in the Terrace, so I missed him, which I'm obviously gutted about, but in al honesty I was in no state to even dance or take in the music.

Reports from my mates were that Cox (on at same time as Digweed in main room) was pretty poor - no big tracks, no riffs, no vocals etc

Hanging big time now (back in UK) so will post a review tomorrow of the week - but to give you a taster I had the unfortunate experience of seeing Tiesto, and listening to some crap music in Pacha.

Ok here goes a mini review of the week:

Landed Monday with 5 of my friends. Dumped the luggage off and headed for Bora straight away. Sunshine was out and the beers and tunes were flowing. At this point the majority of my mates wanted to give Tiesto at Privilege a whirl, so rather than rock the boat I went along as well. I have forgotten just how massive Privilege is. And it's changed a lot since my last attendance there in 1999. Tiesto was at the far end on a stage, so it felt more like a concert than a club set. I didn't stay long though-been awake for about 35 hours at this point and coupled with all the alcohol my body was not happy. Struggling to see how Tiesto is so rated? Average mixing, average tunes.

Tuesday - after maybe 5 hours sleep it was up again, spot of food and then back to the beach. Some reps told us about Ushuaia which was 'just up the beach'. Headed up there on what felt like the longest hike ever. Took us about 30 minutes to actually find the entrance. There was a queue of people waiting to get in, all dressed up. We were in flip flops and shorts! Unsurprisingly we didnt get in! Queue another hike back to Bora!

In the evening it was pre drinks at some bars, then onto Space. Got there at 12 and there were thousands outside queueing. We blagged Carl Cox guest tickets so didnt cost us anything to get in, but the queue was awful - about 10 people wide, 500 long etc. It was pretty hostile, people arguing etc. Took us an hour to get in the door. Fatboy Slim was on and he was absolutely wicked, loads of party tunes etc. The place was rammed, could hardly dance but with the tunes on it was acceptable. As mentioned above, I bailed at 4 and missed Digweed but I would probably have collapsed if I had stayed longer anyway.

Wednesday - daytime was the same really - Bora Bora and beers on the beach in the sunshine. Went to Pacha to see Morillo and Fake Blood. What a pile of crap that was. Who are Fake Blood? They played nothing but wishy washy house. It annoys me that acts like this get bigged up all over the island and on flyers etc and better dj's dont get a look in. I stayed in Pacha for an hour it was that bad. Some of us left and headed back to the bars around Space, where the drinks were cheaper and the music was better! Dragged myself home about 6am

Thursday was literally get up, pack and get to the airport.

From the report above you are probably thinking it wasnt that good, but trust me I enjoyed myself. The banter with the lads, the sunshine, Bora Bora (always quality) and Fatboy were highlights. Lowlights were the prices (always seem to rise each year) and missing Digweed.

Sounds like one big session :P

Space gets pretty packed for Carl's night, but Fatboy Slim is always a big draw and August is peak season, so that adds to the number of bodies (assume it was the same with Moby last year too). Assume John was playing the last 3 hours on the terrace. The measures are big, so I only had three or four JD's plus a couple of waters (so £50 for the night).

We offset the drink prices by super-market beers on the beach and by the pool (€2.80 for 6 x Estrellas) or by going to the more reasonable beach bars (€3 a 'grande' beer) ... we ate really well but limited things too where the locals ate (the goat farm bbq was immense) - so I didn't think it was too bad during our last two visits.

Its a bit off though when both DJs don't start until 4 am when the place shuts at 6. You pay £40 and only get 2 hours. It was like last time I went Lawler came on at 4 am and still no sign of Oakenfold or Fanculli (or the House Cat for that matter)

Everywhere's a 7.00 am finish C .... so it would have been a 3-hour set - but the headliners slots being so late is always a nightmare. We had a post-World Cup & pre-Cadenza nap & overslept ... woke up at 2.30 am, luckily was staying 10 mins from Pacha so caught all of Luciano's set.

Must be a Spanish thing, although more UK clubs are following suite (unlike Cream which always had people on at a decent time).
