I love it. I'm a foodie and an avid at home chef and love the way the guy writes, it's a win for me. He's going to be speaking here in St. Louis next month, but having read most of his books, watched all of No Reservations, plus watched the first season on travel channel (which was basically A Cook's Tour on film)...the wife and i decided not to spend $100 to go hear him speak when i don't really think he'll say anything i haven't already heard.
If you like food books, pick up Heat - by Bill Burford, which is about Mario Batali. Great read.
I haven't heard about that Batali book, I checked it out on amazon, it looks good, I will add it to my list of stuff to pick up. I like Mario Batali alot so this should be a cool read.
Also you know that Bourdain has a new one out this month right? Medium Raw. I guess it is supposed to be a follow up in the vein of Kitchen Confidential which is sweet.
true, brilliant thread! therefore i'd like to suggest a novel, which was one of the greatest i've ever read. "the shadow of the wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (original title is La sombra del viento) - loved it!
only reading stuff i can apply in everyday life nowadays. anything from all cultures really. been focusing on the east, and am reading the surya siddhanta alongside the dhammapada at the moment. great stuff.

haha, actually i am currently reading "crime and punishment" by dostoyevsky. i like it a lot
especially the dialog between raskolnikov and somatow (in part 2, VI) is one of my favorite parts.
Yeah I read crime and punishment...didn't really like it as much as some of his other books...
BTW another must read is dispatches by Michael Herr...the best war book ever ever! It formed the basis for every single Vietnam movie
