[Kinetic]

The Lights Out podcast is my new avenue for exploring the deepest, darkest corners of electronic music, with a special focus on electronic dance music.

Every month there will be a new mix posted, alternating between me (Kinetic) and a guest DJ picked by myself. I will ask every guest DJ to feel free to explore his own personal "dark side of the moon" in theirs mixes. Who knows, there might be some surprises, as there will be no barriers or labels tagged on the DJ´s I will pick, and some of them might show an unknown side to their work. That is, in fact, the main goal for this podcast : provide a stage for up and coming talent to show an unusual and unexpected side of their love for dance music.

For the 1st episode, we have a rough, dirty, techy mix, with some "classic" techno names alongside young entries into the pantheon of future classics in the genre. Did I say "techno"? That´s right, thos who know me for my more progressive mixes will find that this time I went down to techno valley!

This podcast idea has been in my head for a few months, so this past weekend I did this mix for a cartrip, and thought it totally fit the direction I was planning for the podcast, so here it is! Besides, I wasn´t too happy with my last one, too fluffy.

By the way, I´ll be inviting a few [MS] DJ´s for the podcast, and ribbs, you are definitely on my list. I´ve got the guests planned until the end of the year, but earlier next year we´ll talk, if you´d like to be in it

Bloody fantastic idea Kinetic.... always happy to soak up the deep and dark sounds in edm. Looks like this is gonna be my cup of tea.

Yeah, one of the goals is to get people who don't usually play Dark music to show a side to them that sometimes they just can't, not because they don't like it, but because that's not what people are used to get from them. And there will be no genre limitations, people can do a dubstep set, just like they can do a techno or even IDM set.
