How are you finding the comics you bought?
Don't remember if Hellblazer was mentioned, I'm trying it out, it's very heavy reading because it's kinda noir/hardboiled/supernatural/psycho thriller. But some stellar prose:

The night is a carnival of wings.
Rise now, into this seething sky. Boil above the tower-gardens where bright and fearful flowers grow their lurid blossoms in dark caverns.
Follow their scent, the airborne fragrance of hunger.
This is a paradise of dark desires.
Below, the trembling hearts beat out their tom-tom pulse of desperate needs, calling for partners to bear witness—to share their dance of barbed, consuming passion.
I hear. I come to pluck you—petal by fluttering petal. To plant my furious seeds in the belly of your charred ecstacy—to sample the nectar of your craving with a discerning tongue.
O glorious, contorted, fruits of agony, feed me with the wine of spoiled lust.
See me grow.
