Windows Security Essentials / Windows Firewall

Opinion on using these solely? There used to be a time when I'd install a 3rd party firewall and virus checker by default but they started wanting to do everything and be the jack of all trades and most are resource hogs and or bloatware. Now I just have these 2 installed on both my Windows 7 desktop and laptop. Everything works silently. Virus definitions are up to date and it's all nicely integrated into the system (as you'd expect). To be honest, it's been a very long time since I've had any sort of major virus issue so I can't really gauge how good they are. But all seems well.

Yep. Usually don't bother with anti-virus, but don't even notice that security essentials is there. Good stuff imo

I only use windows firewall when connected to public wifi networks.

Security Essentials is great, running the x64 version on my desktop, and I want to run it on my laptop, but I have to use the corporate antivirus from my company

I use WSE too, however ive had problems finding/deleting viruses some times.

I recommend using it but scanning regularly with SpyBot Search and destroy, and if that cant handle it then throw in Ad-Aware or any other antispyware of your choice.
        Dont panic, its organic.
