Harmonic just can't turn down a good DJ. Hence, this won't actually be the closing party of Damaged Goods, because they've got something extra special planned for October 8, the new closing party date.
On September 10, Harmonic boasts another Los Angeles debut by electronic music dynamo KIKI, of BPitch Control fame. Kiki is surely a producer for whom no introduction is required. His style encapsulates everything exciting about electronic music. As a DJ he uses the experience of a life of travelling and performing and channels those experiences into music that has a reflective brilliance, deftly treading the line between the club space and the headspace. Originally from Helsinki, Kiki now finds his home in Berlin. Gigs in Germany were followed by a string of huge international bookings. Since 2001, Kiki has become an integral part of the Bpitch family growing into a truly international artist, sharing his love of energetic and hypnotic music across the globe from Mexico, to Tokyo and making a little bit history along the way. Kiki has been the only performer ever to pack Ibiza’s Space club to capacity on a Monday. With an output that has been nothing short of prolific, Kiki has released a number of genre defining records both as himself and later with partner in crime Silversurfer. Kiki was the first artist asked to put together a mix for the now legendary Boogy Bytes series, and has been asked to provide remixes and productions for labels as diverse as Bugged out, Playhouse and Crosstown Rebels where he had the honor of being the first artist released on the label. MTV playlisted a music video off his 1st album, and the remixes of his “Good Voodoo” have been some of the hottest releases of the past several years. Simply put, Kiki is a Jedi in all realms of the industry, and a worthy captain for this bon voyage.
The additional musical ushers for the evening will include another artist from across the pond, and several LA transplants, all integral parts of the LA scene.
SANDEMAN is a veteran of the London minimal scene, and has gigged across Europe, Ibiza and the US solo and as SANDEMAN & MR. DICKIE. He’s hosted parties at Casa Blue and The Hoxton Pony (Heroes and Villains) in London, and is soon to release his debut album with the group Wildkats.
Local representation from LA’s underground includes a live set from Friendly Integration & Droid workhorse DEREK MICHAEL, DJ sets from tastemakers JENILUV - responsible for Making Shapes success, as well as Harmonic/Hear/Damaged Goods Patriarch JAKE PATRICK.
