            Not sure why I hear so many people hate on itunes. There are some things I didn't like about it at first, but it's pretty customizable in the preferences. Once I had it set up the way I wanted it, it's a perfectly good music player. I absolutely love the coverflow for all the album artwork.

            As far as this Ping business goes, I won't get involved in it. Seems pretty ghetto and I try not to buy into Apple's gimmicks.

            Music is the answer, to your problems. Keep on movin', till you solve them.

              As for me, I haven't clicked on "update" since buying this macbook, so I still use version 9.02. unless someone can convince me to change it, I like this version.

              It was fun while it lasted...

                Well I used to love it, until it added all the extras that i don't want and removed the really simple things that I do want. Like bit rate and date added in the main music . And still can't drag and drop to my ipod, which I'm sure I could do years ago! Well I think I could

                  ^I drag and drop to my Itouch, so yeah you could. why would they remove something as functional as "drag and drop?"

                  You could just download an older version?

                    I'm not sure what you mean DIDI. iTunes 10 does have the ability to add in the Bit Rate and the Date Added columns. See the screenshot below.

                      Reasons to switch to iTunes 10:

                      * Better WebKit support

                      * iTunes Ping

                      * Concerts listed for major artists (Digweed actually has one listed)

                      * Support for the new Apple TV

                      * 99 cent TV show rentals

                        Re: iTunes Ping

                        ^You really had a hand in building this or are just joking around? If so that is pretty badass being involved in a big project like itunes if you are. No one at work that you can add is using this then?

                        I dont use itunes, mainly because I use linux for most of my everyday stuff, and it chokes if I try to index my 300G library. Plus I want to organize on filesystem layout, not my id3 tags which would take 100 years to correct.

                        The major gripe I've heard about it is that its mainly just another apple tool to drive up itunes purchases. AKA it just recommends based on stuff you've bought only off the store and not whats being played in your library which isn't directly purchased. Also that it is ANOTHER "social" network, which is just fragmented from every other social network already out there, like last.fm.

                        Is this all off base or what do you think?

                          ^^^ I don't want or need the store either. If I buy digital download I want them in better quality. A One of the reasons I upgraded was because Itunes kept choking I want a simple music management app.

                          That's not the main music section I get that screen shot if I look at a playlist . Actually that screen shot isn't even remotely what I get in anything .

                          Oh and your list of reasons, there is not one thing I want there. For me it really is just about tunes

                          Floridorange It may work with an itouch but it aint working with either of my current Nanos . It shows as "other" which can't be accessed. I only know it's there because it takes up space. And I can't remember which version worked the best. You would assume that everything would work better with the newest version. Is that windows iTunes you linked me too. I may just go back , but I'm a bit wary, because I have lost stuff before.

                          Ok Did some fiddling and got my date added and bitrate back. But I shouldn't have had to fiddle with anything I would have thought my choices would have been maintained with the upgrade.
