A prodigious bleep-freak from the Italian underground provides this week’s Clash DJ podcast. Memory9 – Gadi Sassoon – supplies a selection of electronica, glitched, twinkled and generally squelched to IDM high heaven.
Having cut his teeth on a range of musical careers (jazz musician, sound artist, club DJ and producer) and already toured extensively across North America and Europe, Memory9 clearly knows his stuff when it comes to bleeps and beats, and here showcases his wisdom, via a mix with a mouth-watering tracklist.
Featured artists include bass-warping genius Squarepusher, Brainfeeder luminaries and alt-hop demons Flying Lotus and Daedelus (as well as new Brainfeeder talent Teebs), Ninja Tune low freq-obsessives The Bug (remixed by Autechure, natch), princes of fidget-house Crookers, and Bristolian dubstep heavyweight Joker, before things come to a trippy and colourful close, courtesy of the mighty Moderat.
An utterly solid selection, and not a dud in sight. Crying out to be heard, basically.
