Has anyone tried splicing into any speaker wires in an attempt to record a live set at a club ? Perhaps splice in, convert to RCA, then mini-stereo, then mp3 recorder ? One of the issues may be the input level going to the speakers...... ??

Unless you are talking about a powered monitor with a line level input, you are gonna be splicing into an amp output not a line level source and you have no way of knowing how much current is involved.

Splice and convert to rca ? Doesn't really make sense.

It would be like saying i want to splice into my home's electricity supply to put a phone connector on it.
