Re: DJ Mag Top 100 2010 LEAK

I don't know what its like in the rest of the world but it seems to me the people who love the "progressive" DJ's seem to be a lot older than the trance crowd. Maybe the trance DJ's are still managing to bring in new fans. I reckon your average progressive fan is well into their 30's by now , if not older. Yeah people like Digweed can still pull a big crowd like he did at Brixton, but you compare that to Tiesto playing in the park there's a big difference. I think as EDM go's that trance sound will always be number 1, people find it more emotional and uplifting than the other genres.

It's not the top 10-15 that doesn't make sense, the most popular names win, it's the rest of the chart. Most of them pay to be there!
Also, Voorn was much more under the spotlight in 2009 and got 145th or something, now he's in the 100.

from the top 10 djs, van buuren is the only who maybe really deserves it to be there imo. he seems to work really hard and does a lot for (trance) music (running several labels, ASOT weekly etc) besides that he really keeps in touch with his fans and remained down to earth...

Yeah 10 years a go I would know something about nearly every DJ in the top 100. These days I don't even recolonise half the names

Never heard of: "Bobina" "Afro Jack" or "Dash Berlin," each in the top 25.

                              Markus Shulz, what the?

It was fun while it lasted...
