Muffler - Calling Your Name and Gangwarz NOW OUT ON BEATPORT!
Having produced drum and bass for the last decade from his home base in finland, the legendary muffler has turned his attention to producing dubstep...and with devastating results. drawing upon his strengths in crystal clear production and epic melodies, he has crafted two anthemic smashers for his initial foray into the genre. very impressive!
"calling your name" brings in the 1992 breakbeat hardcore vibe with a soaring piano, strings, chugging beats and a signature old school pitched vocal. when it hits the drop its all over - huge, huge, huge bass that just overwhelms the speakers. BAD! "gangwarz" has a more sinister vibe with it's menacing intro but then it too drops into some nasty bass with a machine gun rhythm and plenty of switches. both of these tracks have been damaging sound systems for the past year and would be two welcome additions to any djs 'secret weapons'.
