        solid state means no moving parts
        meaning it does not contain the discs that are in the picture posted above.its flash based memory.like whats in a flash drive.but on a far larger scale

                        Truthfully... I only use it at home and on long flights. I want something that is powerful and has a bigger screen...so for me this is perfect. I was thinking about a 18.6" but decided that would be silly.
