Recent comments by a professor at harvard has angered feminist groups. He claims that women tend to do less well in academic subjects especially in sciences.
This may anger some members here but i think its true in some respects. No one can deny that girls do better than boys in school years, but when they get to university its a different story. Certainly in my days in the physics class, the girls were a minority but they tended to do less well on average. I thought maybe it was just a one off year but the university records over the years showed a consistency in results.
Do you think girls reach a limit in their thinking as they get older? I may be totally wrong but alot of research has been coming out in recent years that shows a similar pattern. It doesn't get much publicity because of the risk of offending some feminist groups, and there are always some groups the ridicule the research as nonsense. Of course you will get the occational female professor telling us that she is proof that women are as able as men if not better, but let's be honest, you will get exceptions but we are talking here in general terms.
I just thought its a point worth debating. I'm not a sexist, just todays news caught my attention and it wasn't a stupid man talking nonsense, it was a professor at harvard and he wasn't the first to say it in the last few years.
