    Dub pistols mix 1 (master)

2010 has been a fantastic year for Barry Ashworth and his band Dub Pistols. Barry and the band have been round the world 5 times playing in every country imaginable, they have headlined festivals, been nominated for awards and have released their fourth studio album. For some artists, these things are just pipe dreams, but for Ashworth and the Pistols, things are only just getting started.
This year saw Dub Pistols play in France no less than 50 times (that’s more than a lot of French acts!) and over 50 UK dates to boot! That doesn’t include the long list of festival appearances at events like Glastonbury, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Beatherder, Creamfields, Boomtown, Guilfest, Electric Picnic and many, many more. Their endless touring also saw them grace the shores of USA, Canada, Argentina, New Zealand, India, Ibiza, Kula Lumpa, China, Bosnia and a long list of other countries you didn’t even know they knew how to rave! All that and a nomination at this years UK Festival Awards for Best Band has catapulted the act to the next level. To say 2010 has been a success for Barry is one of the biggest understatements of the year!
Barry Ashworth is the head honcho of Dub Pistols and the main driving force behind the act, but that’s not all he is capable of. Barry DJs out solo all around the world as well as playing host to Dub Pistols Sound System LIVE featuring vocalists Rodney P and MC Sir Real. He is also co-label boss at Westway Records and produces under a plethora of aliases. He was one of the very first residents at the world-renowned Fabric club in London as well as resident at the biggest Ibiza parties Manumission. He currently holds residency at Jade Jaggers ‘Jezebel Loft Parties’ across various locations in London.
Without having a moment to stop to take a breather, Barry’s calendar for 2011 is already jam-packed! Label home of the Dub Pistols, Sunday Best, will be releasing not one, but TWO new albums next year; ‘Rehash’, the faultless remix album of classic Dub Pistols tracks featuring Matt Bushwacka!, Paul Daley (Leftfield), 2 Bit Thugs, Ben & Lex, Kouncil House, Dancefloor Outlaws and many more all on remix duties and also the bands fifth studio album, both to be released by the summer months. Barry will also be mixing the brand new Westway compilation and has already received several bookings for HUGE festivals including the opening slot at next years Snowbombing Festival.
2011 can only mean more endless touring and spreading the very good word of Barry Ashworth and Dub Pistols right across the globe.
