Re: Anyone using Bing??
also, i'm starting to use bing more often. i've got no beef with any computer company except apple. they're techno-facists over there.you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky
it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

Re: Anyone using Bing??
Hideous? Don't all browsers look the same these days? A button and a row of tabs... Have been using Opera for maybe ten years so guess I'm just used to how it works and looks.
In other news, today I got irked with google giving fewer and less useful results, so have started a trial period with bing as default. How exciting!Comment

^ so wait....
...if you get the same search results, but without having google index your searches on their servers....that's a good thing, no?you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

Re: Anyone using Bing??
^ google doesn't own what users click on, do they? at best, google provides results of a list of links. bing, apparently, is basing their search engine not on google's search results themselves, but what google users click on --> which to me seems like they're not stealing.

Re: Anyone using Bing??
yeah the bing toolbar or IE8 apparently is sending back to bing users clickthru data on google.com and adding it to their index. but what is cheezy as you can see from the blogpost the search -> results are nonsense, so their index really isn't getting better in these cases, so pretty dumb. write better kodez.Comment

Re: Anyone using Bing??
I'm going to write a [ms] DJ Database toolbar that will let you automatically submit a new artist to our database through a single click. I'll also have it index every post of every other forum that you visit behind the scenes and automatically insert those posts into [ms] as legitimate content under fake usernames so we can stay competitive with current discussions on other EDM forums.Comment

Where will those be inserted?

Re: Anyone using Bing??
It's an interesting scene. I've used Bing a few times out of interest, and to be honest, it seems really good! But ultimately what does it offer me that is different to Google? Basically nothing.
People are accustomed to using Google and if Bing has nothing unique to offer (of value) then why would anyone change? Unless they obtain a strong hold on something like Windows Phone 7 where a large user base utilizes Bing as part of it's built in functionality... it's pretty much going to be impossible to touch Google without them making some sort of mega f**k up which causes user backlash.
The only unique take on a search engine I've seen is www.wolframalpha.com. This is cool but of course not a replacement for a traditional serach engine.Comment

Re: Anyone using Bing??
Google: simple, plain, straightforward, shit load of ads
Bing: Nancy-boy looking, does what Google does. Suppositively better (visually)?
End of the day it’s just a search engine right?
Searched poodle.
Google: About 15,500,000 results (0.06 seconds)
Bing: 1-10 of 5,840,000 results (same speed)
Google=FTW!
Firefox= FTW!
And that's my point of view. That will be all.
