One step closer I bet to people being able to copy games on the PS3. I'm sure Sony is not happy.

Now all bets are off. Modules within the firmware can be patched, re-signed and repacked into an update file that any PS3 – jailbroken or not – can read. The patches made by the PSJailbreak USB dongles could be hard-coded into custom firmware, meaning dongle-less piracy that encompasses current and future firmwares. In effect, the PlayStation 3 is now the most vulnerable console on the market, even more exposed to hackers than the Wii and Xbox 360.
I haven't watched these yet but plan on it, I'm sure they are very interesting.

Re: Root keys for Sony’s PlayStation 3 go public
I'm not sure...I remember reading a while back that the usual timeframe for a new gen of consoles has already passed, which has been the first time in a long time. I think the companies are relying more on user DLC and addons to extend current games past the point where they used to be done with, so I guess time will tell. If anything the wii was first broken, so looking to hear about what nintendo would do next would prob be a good indicator.Comment

Sony is trying to demand that anyone who has ever, posted the hack online, commented on the youtube video of the jailbreak, or ever viewed the youtube video of the jailbreak be identified and their information handed over to Sony's lawyers.Comment
