^^^^ I can laugh at that now, well nearly.
As I said we are so lucky here. Flooding here has such a different meaning to flooding in Brazil or Pakistan. And today is the first anniversary of Haiti. It definitely makes you more aware of the rest of the world when it hits close to home.
Good story, tug boat captain see's 300 metres of floating concrete walkway heading towards the pylons of a big bridge. Takes off after it, and, without ropes etc, manoeuvres it around to go under the bridge and guides it out to the bay, avoiding many obstacles. Definitely life threatening stuff, both his and others ! His comment. "just gave it a bit of a nudge "

Simply reading that brought tears to my eyes, how very sad
As for all the other drama going on in this thread, I think it is highly inappropriate....people are dying and suffering and we are bickering over silly things, please lets stop

So much has happened since that video ! The dam is now running 187% over capacity and we all know it didn't protect Brisbane.

ye that's what i've been asking myself as well... i somehow feel like it's getting worse from year to year or am i just spending more time on news? is the media just pushing it more every year?
