    DJing Soundcloud Competitors

    Hi All,

Do any of you use any other sites like soundcloud (but not so limited in what you can put up) for hosting mixes?

there is mixcloud. but i'm pretty sure it's run by the same people. I'm sure if you do a thorough search, you'll find plenty.

Waxdj.com is one I used in the past. It's not as flashy as Soundcloud, though... Soundcloud is likely the one that attracts the greatest pool of potential listeners.

What is "like soundcloud" though. Are you just after streaming live sets? If you want other stuff too then I think Soundcloud is very much unique.

Soundcloud was not purpose built specifically for streaming live sets. Rather, it was designed as a platform for artists and producers to exchange sounds, ideas and music on an easy to use platform. It was meant to remove the hassle of exchanging digital music online, which in the past could only be done through websites like megaupload or FTP.

Of course, it's turned out to be a great marketing tool also.

Soundcloud because of its simple integration across platforms has taken over.

Other best bet? Get yourself some cheap web hosting and link mp3's off of that, or put them through a web-based player on your site..
