ONNO-
At just 27 years of age, Dj, Producer and allround nice guy ONNO is without doubt the bright new hope for Dutch house music! He made his first mark in the dance scene by becoming the youngest ever resident of the notorious Amsterdam based club night Chemistry in 2001. A pretty decent playground for a 19 year old we must say. A few years later his production career took off in collaboration with Rocco Mundo. Their initial material landed straight in the boxes of Dubfire and Steve Lawler amongst others. It didn’t take long before tracks were licensed to some huge labels like Renaissance. Gigs all over the world in cities like Barcelona, Moscow, Miami, Munchen, Helsinki and festivals like Mysteryland, Dance Valley and Sensation White soon followed. After this he was picked up by earth (Amsterdam) to join their team of residents and join their agency.
However it was 2010 that will be the year remembered as ONNO’s big breakthrough onto the international stage, thanks to some outstanding releases with labels like 2000 and One’s Remote Area Records, Tiefschwarz’ Souvenir imprint, and the highly respected Upon You Records in Berlin, as well as high profile remixes for the likes of the legendary Get Physical Records. DJ support has come in thick and fast for his music, with the Steve Lawler, Marco Carola, Nick Curly, Matthias Tanzmann, Tiefschwarz, 2000 and One, Tim Green, Gregor Thresher, Karotte, Slam, Audiofly, Davide Squillace and many more all hammering his music at gigs and festival worldwide.
His gig diary has reflected this in 2010, as things have started to take of, playing in pretty much every club and festival in his native Holland, as well as high profile gigs at venues like The Panorama Bar, Watergate & Bar 25 in Berlin.
2010 is also the year his collaboration with longtime friend Victor Coral, PRESETONE, really took off. Their tracks have been released on German Circle Music and Amsterdam based 90 Watts Records. Together they also organize Babylon, a tech house oriented club night at Amsterdam's number one club, Studio 80, where they invite (inter)national dj's and producers they esteem highly. Babylon was an instant success and was sold out from the opening night. Guests include Audiofly, Tim Green, Davide Squillace, Dj T, Luca Bacchetti and Tiefschwarz.
Expect to hear a lot more from ONNO in 2011!
Opening the night in proper form will be the man behind NYC's esteemed STRANJJUR parties, KEV O'BRIEN.. Following Kevin will be long time Sullivan Room residents, and provider of all things groovy SAMSARA, and PureVibe NYC's Simon Heyliger closing the night with his signature dark bouncy beats..
