This weeks show includes a sublime starter from Tel Aviv duo Guy Mantzur & Sahar Z that's been huge for Diggers and Guy J yet is still unsigned. The show is worth grabbing for this one alone, but there are more goodies including new productions from John Selway, Umek, Shlomi Aber & Nic Fanciulli, plus King Unique's take on Hernán Cattáneo & Soundexile. There's also a nice ending c/o Monaque Musique + a stellar guest mix from Delta Heavy partner, longstanding friend and all round legend Jimmy Van M.

    Guy Mantzur & Sahar Z - Patterns : Release Notes :

This is a small preview from our latest track, it's still unsigned but allready created a buzz at some clubs and been hammerd by Guy J at his sets & charts.

'I like the feel...... very nice' [Robert Babicz]

Tel Aviv-based electronic musician Guy Mantzur specializes in electronic music crossing all genres from chill-out to progressive house, techno or tech-house. His works regularly feature on TV shows & film soundtracks and is recognised with his unique hypnotic melodies and sound that can take you to space and back.

Mantzur is the co-owner and A&R for Munich-based label Plattenbank alongside Yaniv Tal, resident of Tel-Aviv's most popular club - The Cat & The Dog. Guy has collaborated with the likes of Shlomi Aber, Lutzenkirchen, Guy J, Michel De Hey, Audio Junkies and (heard here)Sahar Z - who Deep Dish decribed as 'the best kept secret of the Middle East' in their sleeve notes for Yoshiesque 2.

Thodoris Triantafillou & Cj Jeff - Zougla EP : Release Notes :

Athens based Rhythmetic label owner Cj Jeff was one half of Adaptor [Crosstown Rebels | Regular | Moodmusic]. More recently he has been working on a new project with Thodori Triantafillou. 'Zougla' follows on the back of June's 'Power Over Nothing' release [Rhythmetic 015] and includes a remix from Phonique [Dessous | Renaissance | Poker Flat] on the flipside.

John Selway - Interplanetary Express EP : Release Notes :

Christian Smith’s Tronic label draws it’s 2010 singles release schedule to a close with a special EP from Christian’s longtime studio collaborator, John Selway.

The release features two brand new Selway productions – Interplanetary Express and Nightside – that showcase Selway in full on tech house sleaze mode. Also included here is the previously unreleased Smith & Selway Dub of Countenance; a warm and fuzzy ride through shimmering melodies and spacious beats that closes out this heavy weight end of year package in fine style.

    Dubfire - 5/5

Cisco Ferreira (The Advent) - 5/5 "Countenance.. both doing what they do best"
Mihalis Safras 5/5 "loving the release"
Steve Bug - 4/5 - "seems that mr. smith and mr. selway found their new destination. great productions from both of the these days! lovin' it!"
Laurent Garnier - 4/5 - "another strong one from mister Selway, will support as always"
Secret Cinema 4/5 - "Yeah, nice one, Will play nightside and countenance 4 sure!!"
Marco Bailey 4/5 - "full support"
    Hernan Cattaneo - 4/5 - "top ep!"
Danny Howells - 4/5 - "Love it, will play!!!"
    Chris Fortier - 4/5 - "wicked"

Marcus Sur - If The Tiger Eats The Lotus Flower EP : Release Notes :

Marcus Sur releases his first record on the deep imprint of MBF LTD. Recently home to Riley Reinhold productions, the label started years ago with Cosmic Sandwich productions, weird and disco induced, mutant disco and now is on its way to settle with deeper and soulful house, as part of the Traum Schallplatten stable.

Marcus Sur seems to be just the right choice at the right time. Marcus has been a very active member of the lively Ruhrpott house scene for years. He released his "Down With The Ship" 12" on Trapez ltd and will contribute two tracks on to the next Highgrade Compilations before changing to MBF LTD. Marcus is a master of understatement and deepness, he refrains from cheap thrills and stunts and believes in the hypnotic value of house.

His a-side track " If The Tiger Eats The Lotus Flower" is alternately seductive and its screeching banshee vocals invoke an immediacy that resonates instantly with listeners. This is true Sur style and shows he has his knowledge of keeping it low key. Somehow a cross over between the weird world of Sur and and his more classic deep house tracks... this could be the track for the more advance DJ searching for the unexpected and new. This is spiritual music and a key word for this release.

Switching to "What We Get Is A Smile" we are confronted with an uplifting dubby house beat that comes in waves... and is centred around a cool vocal referring to the title of the track. We like that track.

"My Way" comes in two versions, one by Keno and one by Marcus himself. The Keno remix is more direct and accessible whereas the original by Marcus is deeper and for the emotional moments of life.

The Philip Bader Remix of 'So What If We Get A Smile' is one of two extra tracks available on the digital release.

Our friend from Cologne days Eric D. Clark has reworked "If The Tiger Eats The Lotus Flower" into a spiritual psychedelic voodoo glam house message. This is not for the weak or for DJs who seeks for standards... Eric sticks out as an individual when he layers channels and has them cross fertilized. We are not sure where this track will lead us to...in the end the DJ will show us how to work that track.

A hitty and new school house remix of "What We Get Is A Smile "is delivered by the Berlin based Philip Bader. Philip uses samples of the original and adds external snippets of sounds to nicely clash and create a kind of dada funk we can easily relate to! This mix is for the people that need to be lead to the craziness on a direct way... a sure shot!

Hernán Cattáneo & Soundexile : Teleport EP : Release Notes :

Sudbeat boss Hernán Cattáneo once again teams up with his countrymen Soundexile on the label's first release of what promises to be a successful 2011. Oliverio & Baunder join forces with Hernan having already featured alongside him on 2009's "The Remixes EP" and this year's "Cripsis", as well as on the remix of M.O.D.E.'s "Circles".

Today sees the trio revisit and re-edit "Teleport", a track that in its original form, featured on Hernan's most recent edition of Renaissance's "Masters Series". Backing the refreshed original is a remix package that contains experience and youth.

UK producer King Unique, fresh from the success of his Bedrock releases, "2000 Suns" and "Vamoosh" (alongside Anthony Pappa), turns "Teleport" into a groove-lead, low-slung tech-house cut. Chopping the original's melody, King Unique allows to break up, but never take over the groove of the track.

The final two remixes on the package come courtesy of competition winners. Given the parts to what with then as they wish, and judged by Hernan himself, each winner was given the honor of seeing their mix, included on the release. David Granha takes keeps "Teleport" on a tough, but melodic, progressive path. Whereas Victoria R, hits us with a wall of sound and rib-shaking kick drum.

Henry Saiz - "Awesome! Maybe my favourite release on Sudbeat, very solid, can´t pick a favourite one, Of course really enjoyed original, Matt´s is a bomb, David´s blows your mind and victoria´s remix is beautiful and deep, congrats for an amazing release!"

Umek - Novi Sad : Release Notes :

Great Stuff is very proud to welcome the 1605 techno master UMEK for a proper single release. With this track the Slovenian DJ/producer produced a tribute to the city of Novi Sad, Balkan’s capital of electronic music and Serbian home of the legendary EXIT festival.

With the help of Italian and Dutch techno heros Uto Karem and Anton Pieete and their remixes, this release should do damage until EXT 2011.

Shlomi Aber - The Majestic / Glooming : Release Notes :

Fresh from the incredible success of his ‘Chicago Days / Detroit Nights’ album on Josh Wink’s Ovum Recordings, the Be As One label boss continues to bring the heat, with a brand new double-header for Objektivity.

A Side ‘Majestic’, with its stripped structure and layered vocal, has already become a staple in the sets of a few close friends. Its hypnotic and relentless, jackin’ groove is sure to make it an instant favourite. Flipside ‘Glooming’ is from classic Chicago stock. Filtered to perfection and already picking up support from DJ Sneak, it delivers a welcome blast of windy-city-inspired house. Shlomi Aber on Objektivity, a perfect match!
