After a self-imposed nine-month break from clubland Ben Watt picks up his headphones once more and breaks his international hiatus at Cielo on Thursday 20th as guest of Giantstep. “I was pretty burnt out after a seriously hectic 2009, so I swerved the clubs for a few months,” says the well rested traveler, “but the Buzzin’ Fly Winter Party in London in early December was a great way to return. Packed, sweaty and rocking. It was a stunning night and I am raring to go again.” With a sense of humor to match his equally refreshing approach to life and fame, Ben’s MySpace page tells it exactly like it is: “Yes, I'm that bloke in Everything But The Girl. Yes, I recorded ‘North Marine Drive’ in my youth. Yes, I have been a DJ for over 10-years. Yes, I wrote a book in 1996 called ‘Patient’ about surviving an extremely rare life-threatening illness. Yes, I now run two independent record labels called Buzzin’ Fly (house and techno flavors) and Strange Feeling (alt-indie). OK, that’s that cleared up.” Welcome back Ben!
