Tiesto’s new genre: Trance + House = Trouse
It was just yesterday that inthemix published an interview with Dutch highflyer Laidback Luke who was buzzing about what he saw as the blurring boundaries of house and trance. Well it looks as though that union of styles is being felt throughout the DJ community with fellow Dutch DJ/producer Tiesto officially christening the movement ‘Trouse’…
In the latest of his Mixmag blogs, Tiesto spoke about the gradual shift in his production towards the so-termed Trouse sound, applying some housey furnishings to his trance roots.
“The Christmas break gave me the chance to get in the studio and make some Trouse, this is my new word for trancey-house,” Tiesto exclaimed. “Over the past few years different influences have worked their way more and more into my production and it is an ever evolving sound.”
Other pearls of wisdom from the blog include the news that Las Vegas dubbed January 1st – normally known as New Year’s Day to most people – ‘Tiesto Day’ in honour of the DJ’s monthly ‘In Concert’ residency in the city and that he’s been working on a mixed CD for his Musical Freedom label. Here’s hoping it’s got plenty of Trouse!
In other Tiesto news the Dutchman released his latest video clip last week, a reworked version of his C’Mon single with Diplo, this time featuring Busta Rhymes on the vocal.
