Context, tonality, etc... Again, someone like Chris Mathews saying Cracker on tv in a jesting tone, is not the same thing as Chris Mathews saying "n*gger" in an insulting tone. This argument isn't a new one at all... just because we have a half black half white president doesnt make the argument any more interesting either.

I happen to agree with Matthews, maybe not go so far as to call them "crackers" but anyone who thinks President Obama is not legitimate in any way, HE WAS ELECTED HELLOO, is very UN-American and downright racist, i don't see any other way to justify that kind of outlandish thinking.
