Outlook = Virus Prison of the world.... every single virus ever created is sent to Outlook where they make a mess of everything... I've test driven Thunderbird for email and the way it functions (speed etc.) makes me think its extremely light on resources and feels solid too

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me

I used to use THunderbird and it's great as a personal email program - but it's no match on the power and features of Outlook when it comes to working in big comercial organisations, Outlook is a complete life organisation system, whereas thunderbird is just an email program - a good one at that, but it depends what you're after.

Yeah but you had to pay for that. Thunderbird has it built in.

And yes you can sort them in Outlook if you use a rule, but again Thunderbird does it it inherently.

Downloading Thunderbird 1.5.0.9 now. The security functions like the spam fliter and the anti-phishing tool look pretty interesting. Pitty that it doesn't have an organizer on board though...

Ah well, Firefox rocks so I'm quite confident that Thunderbird will be good too.

I switched from Eudora to TB because Qualcomm is stopping future development on Eudora and making it open source, not sure how that will pan out. And between the two, TB has been open-sourced from the beginning, I figured that has a better track record.

TB is a light and nimble piece of software though I do experience momentarily freezes, not sure why, maybe the program's trying to index the e-mails. The junk filter works surprisingly well even though I've read reviews to the contrary. TB gives you the option of viewing each e-mail account as seperate In boxes or dumping everything into a single In box btw.

The only thing about TB is I don't think its extension feature is fully exploited as FF's has been, which is a pity.
