wow, that was hilariously terrible. he's getting worse.
The NFL wouldn't work if they had 8 teams contributing nothing but got a share of the profits made on the backs of others. If all the players on those 8 teams are paid to do little more than show up, what's the point of even paying them? Wait, if we pay them MORE money, maybe they'll be more productive on the field?
Did Maher conveniently forget Tampa Bay? Rockies? Rangers? Tigers? Marlins? Angles? Giants? Diamondbacks?
Did he forget about Pittsburgh, Indy, and New England dominating superbowls and divisions over the past decade?
Did he really equate a sport with short seasons and fewer games that is ten times more exciting to a sport that has a really long season, more teams, and is quite boring most of the game? They like football because it's....more redistributive....or because of something entirely different? Pardon, but I guess I might be the only one who never saw socialism appealing because it was a violent, ground acquisition competition.
edit: is not the NFL one giant corporation that redistributes within the company (ie. the different corporate divisions aka teams?)
