just got hooked up with Ali Ajami's proton mix 12/5/04. It has been a very long time since I have heard Ali. Damn good mix. Found a little tech in that mix. Very dark.
Would be nice to have another Ajami night in boston.
Anyways, does anyone have a tracklist for this set?
thanks
Ali is the man, i got an email from him a while ago. He really wants to come back to the states, he misses it alot. He cant get a visa and I think it will be a while till he can get one. So looks like the only way you can see him spin is if you go to Dubi.
Except his ability on the turntables,
Ali knows well how to produce awesome tunes.
With his friend Chris Micali made a superb remix on Depeche Mode "Only When I Loose Myself" !
Then came the remix on Cambas "It Scares Me" for Bedrock, which blew my mind, using Matt Wasley for reworking the fantastic vocals
All three together made "I Don't Know", which is forthcoming on G Pal's Swift Records.
i love their track. "Set You Free" I totally dig that track. Just kinda wish I could understand the lyrics a bit more. He's a bit sloppy with his pronouncing while singing.
very very smooth technically. ali is sorely missed here stateside....
from what i hear its worth the trip to dubai anyways, so maybe i'll have to hit him up over there. he's been playing around asia and europe from what i heard.

def. man. he was always a great time. it's a shame the way the times are now, and he cannot return. even with the label he had established and he cannot get back in on work related issue .... too bad boston slowly died after he and debo departed
