FIFA World Cup Tickets on sale
2006 FIFA World Cup? match tickets go on sale this Tuesday, 1 February 2005. The applications section, available through www.FIFAworldcup.com, goes live at precisely midnight and remains open until 31 March 2005 for ticket applications for all 64 FIFA World Cup matches.
"We strongly recommend everyone carefully observes the application procedures so as to avoid mistakes," OC senior vice-president Horst R. Schmidt commented. The most important rules restrict applicants to a limit of four tickets for up to seven matches in price categories 1-3 and two tickets for up to three matches in price category 4. Applicants are under no time pressure as the order in which applications are received has no bearing whatsoever on the chance of tickets being allocated. The Organising Committee is predicting demand far in excess of the 812,000 tickets available in the first sales period, so tickets will be allocated in a ballot for each individual match on 15 April 2005.
"Sales via the internet worked very well at EURO 2004. Ninety six percent of the available tickets were sold this way. Anyone without their own internet connection should enlist the help of friends and family and apply using this method, because it's the simplest way," Horst R. Schmidt continued. Alternatively, printed application forms are available from the Organising Committee. Comprehensive information regarding ticket sales is available from a telephone hotline on 0180 - 526 - 2006.
