EPM celebrate 10 years by launching their own label with a compilation of 10 exclusive and unreleased tracks from their friends in the world of electronic music and a series of label launch parties around the world, starting by hosting Room 2 at fabric on Saturday 26 February.
Featuring artists that EPM have worked with over the past decade; whether by artist management, PR, club promotion, radio plugging, DJ booking, publishing or digital distribution ‘EPM 10’ and the accompanying line-up for fabric on Saturday 26 February are first class all the way.
Robert Hood needs little introduction, the minimal master. However, tonight Robert will be performing a new set under his more disco-influenced Floorplan guise that will give many an insight into his musical plans for 2011. You can also catch his next Floorplan release exclusively on the EPM 10 compilation.
Making a rare UK appearance, Orlando Voorn is one of the first Dutch musicians to establish a vital connection between Detroit and Amsterdam in the early 90s and has long been recognized as one of the Netherland’s most original and ingenious producers in the world of electronic dance music. Orlando has seen a resurgence in studio production over the last few years with his Divine & Night Vision imprints remaining very much active whilst his ‘Nighttripper’ alias is about to be resurrected with a host of remixes from well known producers on Underground Liberation. This year will also see a new artist album from the Dutch legend on Big & Dirty.
Fresh from their fourth studio album ‘Madd Circus’ (Detelefunk) Paris the Black Fu and Mr.O grace Fabric as the Detroit Grand Pubahs bring their DJ/live set in tow. Bringing a touch of Funkadelic to what can be a rather stale techno scene, the Pubahs’ unique voice and image injects humour and drama into the one thing they take most seriously above all else, their music. With new single ‘White Pigeon’ dropping we haven’t seen the last of this dynamic duo in 2011.
Kone-R is the man behind the Uncharted Audio record label, which has introduced the likes of Cursor Miner, LJ Kruzer, Kings Have Long Arms and plenty of other weird and wonderful sonic tomfoolery to the world. Manning the turntables since 1992 when he discovered the joy of warehouse raves, the spirit of that era lives on in his sets today, with a liberal sprinkling of ambience, techno, breakbeats and plenty of low frequency oscillations.
If you want to catch a glimpse of all four artists in action check their respective podcasts in the EPM series:
‘EPM 10’ the compilation exclusively showcases some of the most highly regarded artists from the worlds of techno, house, industrial, electro and experimental electronic music. From 80s italo-disco legend Alexander Robotnick to leaders of nu-school house (Dirt Crew, Marco Passarani, Marius) and techno innovators (Robert Hood, Orlando Voorn, James Ruskin, Mark Broom) to industrial experimentalists Sandwell District and purveyors of the finest electro beats (Detroit Grand Pubahs, Radioactive Man and Billy Nasty) this compilation captures the ethos and spirit of what EPM is about.
