The Nissan GTR is faster, sure, but pulling up to a stop light/bar/restaurant/girl's house in an Nissan isn't the same as pulling up in an Aston. Aston's are still great performers too, so I don't think you're going to get behind the wheel and be pissed you're not going fast enough. Porsche has my heart though, which is where my dime is eventually going.
If looks were everything, you could still get a cheaper/better looking car (of course looks are debatable as it's a personal preference more than anything), but you can't deny that an Audi R8 or even a $130,000 Ferrari F355 Spyder is going to be a MUCH better looker than the Aston.

for me, knowing how shitty the car is going to be in the performance department, it makes the Aston a massive fail (psychologically). Like a fat chick with a honking V8 that's going to sit and make a whole lotta noise....and lose.

But at the end of the day, my opinion is that of a middle class citizen who's eye-ing the value behind every dollar I drop. Maybe people will blindly go for a looker but then again, if I did have the kind of money to drop on a non-performing looker, I would have the time and resources to even take the thing out and race, which in itself makes the car a less valuable purchase imo.

I'll deny it all day long, because, to me, Ferrari/Lamborghini says "Douche." The Aston has some class to it, ie- not obnoxious over the top design. I'm not looking to drive a fucking spaceship.

I don't define Aston's performance, "Shitty." Shitty performance is what Buicks do. When we're splitting hairs over a few seconds on a quarter mile or a few pounds short of a G in cornering in "supercars" the difference is going to be negligible to me. For my money i'm still going Porsche tho if I were in the market for that kind of a car. Tomato Tomahto.

I like fast sedans anyway. Family of 4 to the supermarket in a jiffy!

While I agree with your comment on Lamborghini (oh how the 80s hair spray rock stars ruined this car's image), I'm surprised you're categorizing Ferrari in the same way. While I'll give the Vantage (or even the DB series) a nod, I don't think they're that ridiculously different than most Super Cars in their league.

I was never an Audi fan too but they must be doing something right if the A4 managed to displace the 3 series in Germany as the top selling car...... so there.

I know its subjective and people like them but that new one just looks the same as all of them. It's all about comparisons now, don't think Aston have diversified enough. Id class Aston's as super grand tourers now, not supercars regardless of the massive V12 powerplant's. If it ain't broke don't fix it i guess, same could be said for Porsche styling, some people are perfectly happy with that but for me its alittle safe and boring.

I really wish Aston would go in a new direction with their styling..

Which is probably why I like Astons, not really a fan of obnoxious looking supercars. I quite like the reserved styling of Porsche too. Timeless and classic.
