        How can I get the page turning effect to disable when switching between fullscreen apps? IE I'm switching between Safari and a maximized iTerm session all the time and the whole slide sideways off the screen effect is annoying. I want windows to swap as fast as possible. Anyone know how to change this?

            Interesting, I didn't know you can disable it, but here you go.

            Here's how to disable the animation that occurs when switching between Spaces:
            • Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app.
            • Copy and paste the following into the terminal window and then press enter:
            Code:
            defaults write com.apple.dock workspaces-swoosh-animation-off -bool YES && killall Dock
            If you'd like to re-enable the animation, just do the following:
            • Open Terminal.
            • Copy and paste the following into the terminal window and then press enter:
            Code:
            defaults delete com.apple.dock workspaces-swoosh-animation-off && killall Dock

                BTW the animation is part of Spaces, OS X's virtual desktop app.

                    ^hah you know i found that exact webpage also and already tried that. it is for spaces related stuff, and its not applying to this i don't think. so in lion is each maximized app considered a 'space'? because i tried that a while back and it still just does the side scroll thing when swapping.

                    if i hit f3 i see dashboard / desktop / iterm right now. safari is contained in the desktop window since its not maximized currently. but i would think iterm and desktop would be their own 'space', but this change doesn't seem to work for me.

                            Thanks but that didn't work either From the looks of it this doesn't seem to be possible right now which is pretty stupid. I would think window decoration type stuff like this would be configurable from the get go, but it doesn't look like it right now.

                                Damn. I guess we gotta wait for someone to discover the command. Did you check out programs like Onyx or Secrets? They let you tweak hidden features, might help?
