        Re: OS X Lion

So I got to choose between a Mac and a PC at my new job and have a MacBook. I'm not an apple fanboi but I am getting used to it, once I get the keyboard shortcuts memorized. I have an external apple keyboard which I love. It being so small and close to the table really helps reduce wrist strain.

The new Air's are giving me a chubbie. If I didn't just buy this new PC last year I'd throw down for a Mac Mini as it looks like it will play Blizz games which is really all I will ever play.

          Re: OS X Lion

Does anyone know if/how I can fix these things:

*No library visible in the /user directory (WTF fuck off apple)

*Don't open "all my files" whenever I make a new finder window (fucking useless)

*show diskspace used/available in finder windows

This Lion is pretty shit for me...it's been a pain in the ass getting Macspeech dictate and parallels to work right.

            ^^ yes.

            1. open terminal and type: chflags nohidden ~/Library/

            2. open finder preferences, new finder windows open: select different dropdown

            3. in the finder, select view: show status bar

humm...ill research it some more. i bought this pc last year and would try and see if i could sell it without much of a loss and break even if i could switch to a mac that could play blizz games. it would be nice to declutter my desk of all the pc cords and ugly shit.

Yeah, I don't really use my computer for gaming, so you'd probably have better luck if you pay attention to the specs. I don't know about processors and RAM and all that shit.

                                Mac Starcraft II Requirements

                                Mac Minimum System Requirements:

                                Mac® OS X 10.5.8, 10.6.2 or newer
                                Intel® Processor
                                NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT or ATI Radeon® X1600 or better
                                12 GB available HD space
                                2 GB Ram
                                DVD-ROM drive
                                Broadband Internet connection
                                1024X720 minimum display resolution

                                Mac Recommended Specifications:

                                Mac® OS X 10.6.5 or newer
                                Intel® Core 2 Duo processor
                                4 GB system RAM
                                NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600M GT or ATI Radeon® HD 4670 or better

I'd say the new Mac mini with the Radeon card should be just fine for Starcraft and WoW. They both have pretty much the same requirements... and the latest Mac minis far exceed the recommended specs.
