Re: Balance 018: NICK WARREN !!!
I did think the change in CD1 after track 3 felt a bit random, I assumed Warren wanted to try something different/techier more inline with the recent Balance contributions. But on the whole, great track selection, even the middle of CD1. I struggle to remember another comp in the past 6 months that stood out like that—but my memory is fucked!

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.Comment

Re: Balance 018: NICK WARREN !!!
Cd2 is phenomenal. What makes this such a great addition is how well he managed to keep such great tracks under wraps until this was released. Perfect example being Vicotria R's track. This was being played by Hernan in Dec. Cd2 get a 9.5 from me, giving the overall mix a 9.
EDM mixes this good are a rarity imo. Now I'm looking forward to Guy J's 1000 words(love EVERY track, what a producer), and Mr. Saiz.
2011 is shaping up nicely.
p.s. not to be spoiled but PLEASE tell me hernan is doing another b-day mix(fingers-crossed)Comment

Maccheroni's mail hasn't delivered the Balance cd yet, now I could have it the next day from Amazon.╔══╗............/\_¸_/\

Re: Balance 018: NICK WARREN !!!
I'll reserve my comments on disc 2 for a later time as I don't have a full opinion on it yet (only 1 listen)
I love the first 3 tracks to disc 1. For me it's a nice lush techy introduction and they work together perfectly. Track 4 is a good track in its own right, but just seems out of place that early on in the mix. It abruptly shifts to a bass heavy track and the momentum was killed for me.
The rest of the mix is okay but doesn't grab my attention until deep house track 7 "Jamie Anderson And Owain K - Without Sound". This track, "Nomad in the Dark - Drones (Send me)" were stand outs for me. Albeit, for totally different reasons.
Overall it's a decent mix with a decent track selection with a couple of programming hiccups. It's not going to be a classic but it's worth hearing Warren try something different.
Disc 2 sounds more promising from my initial listen.Comment
