A kinder, gentler George W. Bush

From Bush's State of the Union address:

In America we must make doubly sure no person is held to account for a crime he or she did not commit, so we are dramatically expanding the use of DNA evidence to prevent wrongful conviction.

Soon I will send to Congress a proposal to fund special training for defense counsel in capital cases, because people on trial for their lives must have competent lawyers by their side.
Agree 100%. Isn't this the same guy that proudly executed more people than anyone else as governor of Texas and never granted a single request for a stay of execution based upon ineffective assistance of counsel (or otherwise)?

Glad to see the about face, but I'm a bit skeptical...

The title of this thread made my laugh my ass off and roll over the floor and wet myself. Now my flatmates think I'm nuts, my floor is wet and smells, and so do my clotes and I'm out of washin powder. Thanks!
