    Spelling Mistakes in Media

What is with all of the spelling errors or different versions of spelling of names that the MSM puts out? Can't they just keep it one way?

    Examples:

    Gaddafi
Quaddafi - Same Guy 3 names
    Gadhafi

    Al Qaeda
Al Qaida - Well What was the CIA data base called and how was it spelled?
    Al Quida

Osama Bin Laden - How do you fuck up this guy?
    Usama Bin Laden

Better hope you don't get stuck with this one in your next spelling bee. You may have noticed reading the news recently, that there is no agreed upon way to spell the name of the current Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi.

actually there has been a bunch of chat about this lately since quaddafi has been in the news so much. it is related to different interpretations of his name from arabic

Yeah, there's not a specific, one-to-one translation from the Arabic alphabet to English for these names, so it's sort of up to the interpretation of the person that does the translation how it should be spelled in English.

With my limited arabic skills, I interpret all three of them as Buttfuck McGee. Haven't seen that one before tho, until further notice, that's how I'm going to spell them all. My news reports from the middle east would be awesome.

actually they are all wrong, the proper pronunciation and spelling shud be Qazzaafi, so no d or g at all...

                  Re: Spelling Mistakes in Media

So the media lies to us and makes us use the wrong name?

Just goes to show how stupid they think we are. They make a name up and post it all over the internet so it instantly becomes his name.

Then we bomb him and we act like we know what is going on when we don't even have his name!!!!!!!

Welcome veselic!! Welcome to politics.. hopefully we see more of ya hear.
