Japan's nuclear crisis is spawning concerns about 'another Chernobyl,' but a number of American and European scientists are cautiously taking the edge off the worst fears.
Actually I'd like to watch a docu about Chernobyl, thanks for the link. I will check it out when I have time. But if it is full of I'm going to hold you personally responsible for 90 mins of my life down the drain
I will tell you one thing that doc is pretty scary when you see how close to an even bigger catastrophe it could have been.. It is a good watch. After watching Chernobyl Japan might need 100,000 volunteers to help fix this.. Maybe more
I am very happy to hear about the helicopters. Just a couple days late IMO
I don't think right now anyone on here can know what is going on because of the situation changing so quickly, let alone none of us here actually understanding all of the science behind what is happening (unless there are some nuclear scientists lurking). I'm going to hope that this won't be as tragic as Chernobyl, just because these reactors are more modern and we've learned from the past and hopefully they've taken that data and improved upon it.
I only have two things to say about your statement
1) That would show that humans have learned from their mistakes (which I don't believe in)
2) This is 4 or 5 reactors. This can be much worse than Chernobyl.
Gof I hope I am wrong for the sake of Japan and the human race.
Now is probably an excellent time to educate yourself with some facts. Mind you these are not 100% set in stone facts from the heavens above, but from people much more intelligent in these matters than you or I. I'll again give you the link for self enlightenment:
If you choose not to educate yourself and continue to spoute uninformed, well then I think the 5% of the leftover audience still listening to you can make up their own minds about your statements.
But seriously read the above, the whole bullshit back and forth about this issue really denigrates the real fact that this is a horrible natural disaster and that there could possibly be consequences related to nuclear science that has never been seen before, which is a very scary fact for the entire world population.
I stand corrected. Since you think you know more than MIT Nuclear Science PhD's and undergrads, I give you 3%. Fuck man....you are a piece of work let me tell ya.
How is one man smarter in every subject than every other human in the entire world, yet not listed in the Forbes rich list? Fucked over by your lawyer?
Arnold Gundersen was called as an expert witness for the three mile island incident and who often gives lectures to kids at MIT says that it is too late to do anything. He also thinks that pouring water on the reactors is a bad idea.
One dude with grey hair > all other scientists and the entire Japanese nuclear workforce. You are the Jeff Foxworthy of conspiracy theories/United States penis envy. You need new material.
