    New camera

    Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P73

Just bought this new toy last night. Seeing how I'll be staying on the Atlantic near Chesapeake Bay next weekend, staying in Germany the following week, Switzerland the week after, Spain the week after, then Miami for a week after I return, I thought a digcam would be a fun investment.

Spent $311.00 USD on the camera with an extra 128MB stick, after tax.

4.1 Megapixels, 16MB card included, 3x optical zoom, 640x480 MPEG recording with mono audio input limited to the size of the media, mono RCA a/v output, USB 2.0, comes with 2 rechargable AA batteries plus the recharger. It's fucking pimp. I showed my roommate when he got home and he said his mom had an older model of the same camera... said she's taken hour-long movies on her camera before filling the card!

I'm definitely happy with it... I was playing with it all night last night. Only part that I'm unhappy about is the fact that it doesn't use standard Windows USB drivers. when I opened the box I immediately took a picture and plugged the camera into my computer, but wasn't able to read the camera. I installed the driver CD that came with it and tried again, but it still didn't work. After reading the directions and seeing "WARNING! Do not plug the camera into your computer before installing the drivers or the camera will not work!" warning, I spent almost 2 hours tracking down a driver that was hidden in the OS's i386\Drivers.cab.

    Check here for more specs.

Very nice. I have Cyber_Shot DSC-V1. Got it for 295.00, get more memory sticks. 128 is not even close to enough. I have over 2 gigs.

yeah, but I'll have my company's laptop with me during the whole trip. I just expect to unload the pictures every night when I get back to the hotel room... I figured that'd be enough. Guess I'll realize it isn't when I'm taking videos of strippers & shit

i find the Sony P series AMATEUR.

I mean, if you want to buy a real camera, you should go to V1 if you want sony, or switch to Canon or Nikon.

            that's of course, MY opinion

                bunch of haters.

I'm no pro photographer, I just wanted something small that I could take on trips. I'm pretty happy with the purchase, even though it's a "Sony"
