Geithner and 0bama Can't Get Their Stories Straight on World Currency Intentions

US Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner shocked global markets by revealing that Washington is "quite open" to Chinese proposals for the gradual development of a global reserve currency run by the International Monetary Fund.

The dollar plunged instantly against the euro, yen, and sterling as the comments flashed across trading screens. David Bloom, currency chief at HSBC, said the apparent policy shift amounts to an earthquake in geo-finance.
"The mere fact that the US Treasury Secretary is even entertaining thoughts that the dollar may cease being the anchor of the global monetary system has caused consternation," he said.
Mr Geithner later qualified his remarks, insisting that the dollar would remain the "world's dominant reserve currency ... for a long period of time" but the seeds of doubt have been sown.
The markets appear baffled by the confused statements emanating from Washington. President Barack Obama told a new conference hours earlier that there was no threat to the reserve status of the dollar.
"I don't believe that there is a need for a global currency. The reason the dollar is strong right now is because investors consider the United States the strongest economy in the world with the most stable political system in the world," he said.
CFR and Trilateral Commission must be butting in to create this apparent disconnect.

RunningMan is dead on about this President being worse than Bush because he's taking us to the end of the sovereign line (yes, I admit we started down that path decades ago). His clear anti-American upbringing merely underscores this fact and makes him the perfect candidate for a post-American world where the constitution actually does become the equivalent of toilet paper.

This invalidates everything you have to say in this thread, just because it is so ridiculous.

Maybe you should do some background research instead of believing every mainstream puff piece about the impostor that floats your way.

I'm not talking about reading ghost-written books that he's authored...I'm talking about worldviews and ideologies from both mentors (like Frank Marshall Davis regarding which the FBI has pages upon pages of reports about his anti-American activities; his former pastor Jeremiah Wright who is no MLK, Jr, but is instead a bitter black liberation theologist...whose church Obama sat in for several decades, so he must have found some moral connection with his beliefs) and parents (his mother in particular and biological father).

      Please, wake the fuck up.

So America voted in a President who is anti-American? The other candidates must have been anti-anti- American then.

It was fun while it lasted...

You are speaking in hypotheticals of what would or could have been, Florida, which this thread is not addressing. Bushie ultimately turned away both independents and true conservatives and wrecked the Republican party as a result. Both McCain and 0bama are/were establishment politicians to the extent they would stand behind the financial giants and their bailout demands, answer to the FED, CFR, et al (this is why I was rooting for Ron Paul in the primary). If we compare their history, however, there is really little similarity...one served his country selflessly becoming a war hero (ancient history, of course), the other a community organizer in Chicago supposedly earning some degrees on taxpayer dime. He himself said we would know him by his friends, and one needs to look no further than those that he has kept close to see the angle from which he is coming. One day you two will come out of denial.

ON topic, another theory I've heard spouted is this was a smokescreen for Soros (who is notorious for betting against currencies and making a killing on it) so that he could raise some funds for the coming 2012 re-election campaign just around the corner. Can't wait to hear the propaganda that is sure to come (gag me with a fucking spoon).

Well, shitaki...I grabbed it from another forum, ASSuming it was new (since I frequent there and the news shared is generally recent developments). That'll teach me. Disregard (inasmuch as this being a new development).
