man if i was going to pay $125 for a single 12". It had better be really fucking good and I better be able to play it out for at least my next six times out spinning.

          Damn that's a lot of money for a 12".

i've found tons of records serendipitously at record stores, but they're probably not gems according to most peoples' taste so i won't mention them. but i have found:

freaky chakra - platform ($1, berkeley rasputins)
justine - want me, love me ($2, berkeley amoeba)
god within - the phoenix (album) ($8, berkeley rasputins)

seen two copies of the phoenix at rasputins.

Heh. I paid $160 (Aus) for:

              Eclipse 8 - Acoustic Principles

It broke the bank, but maaan, what a record!

                Re: Gems

picked up s&d renaissance discs 1 / 2 on vinyl today, would have picked up all three but didn't have the ends. listening to it on the system at the shop the vinyl gave so much life to the tracks it was nice, definantly some gems, i think they're limited edition as well?
