    Noise Cancelling headphones

Can anyone recommend some really good headphones for personal use, other than the obvious Bose one (or is it really worth the price?)......will be traveling soon and wanted something to really immerse myself in the music, block out background noise.......Ipod headphones aren't really that effective

    Cheers

I know two people with the Bose noise cancelling headphones, they seem to like them.

Alternatively you could get in-ear monitors like the Shures or Westones (I use them). They cut out most ambient noises, I've used them on planes and they're fine.

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.

I love my Bose headphones, superb quality and relatively light on the ears.

Have tried quite a few in-ear ones and I <3 my Shures. A lot of the other brands feel uncomfortable quite quickly for me, but I think my ears are a bit of a funny shape. Second favourites are actually some really cheap JVC marshmallow ones, but of course the sound quality is much worse with those. With music on both of them block out most office distractions.

Agree Shures are great, plus Ultimate Ears too. If you want active noise cancelling, I've got some of these which are good and amazing value

These do the trick for me:

You can get them for $25 at Target/Walmart

It was fun while it lasted...

I've just invested in the new Allen & Heath Xone XD-20 earphones - they are made specifically for electronic music according to the blurb.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

I'm pretty much a fan of these. Never given me any reason to not love them.

Sennheiser HD25's - not noise cancelling but as soon as you put the cans on your ears it blocks out most external sounds including screaming children on planes...
