HARRY AVERS presents
Noice! - Episode 214 Marino Berardi (Room with a View)
as Promised...Today begins our 4 part series highlighting the terrific "Room with a View" Label... Part 1 comes your way via Marino Berardi. Being the first Benelux producer to be released and licensed in the 90’s on prestigious American labels such as Josh Wink’s Ovum and François K’s Wave Music, Marino has established his unique production style that has seen him release twelves principally on the today defunct imprint, Wally’s Groove World and its sublabels Forced and MB Recordings especially dedicated to his work. Marino’s science of sound has contributed to a solid serie of releases paying tribute to most of his influences including Detroit Techno, American and European House, Hip Hop, Dub, Funk and Disco. Think about two of his most acclaimed tracks so far : Expression in E Dub (licensed by François K for Wave) and Plan B are reminiscent of the hedonistic age of house from the beginning of the nineties and were getting him props from Darren Emerson, Mr. C, Tayo or Colin Mc Bean. 2000 saw also his first and brilliant remix work with Arsenal’s “A Volta” on Wha? Recordings, a brazilian epic of twelve minutes acclaimed by Russ Dewburry, Peter Kruder, Rainer Trüby, Jazzanova and Kyotto Jazz Massive between many others. In 2001, the Freesoul Ep on Moody and the Background EP on Ovum, were both warmly welcomed by those in the know including Terry Francis, Laurent Garnier, Dj Q, Peace Division, Silicone Soul while his subtle retake of Doing Shows from Floppy Sounds impressed master tweakers like King Britt and Rainer Trüby. Many compilations such as the famous Renaissance, DMC & Fabric series licensed Berardi’s tracks to complete their selection. As a dj, Marino has received major welcome in all the clubs he visited throughout Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, England and Japan. He is today one of the main artists of Room With A View and is the partner in crime of Dairmount in studio as the duo Dairmount & Berardi. His first solo EP on RWAV has been released in february 2010 and the first Dairmount & Berardi EP and a bunch of remixes on Atjazz Record Company, Composite & Fresh Meat between others are in the pipeline for 2010.
