Bugger Yeah, I've actually heard that The US isn't that pedestrian friendly.

Los Angeles especially, Manhattan is another story, I was happy to get around without a car while on vacation.

i remember walking thru the whole city of barcelona, took me a week and i did it in flip flops, after a week i had to buy new ones

Always wear good quality running shoes. Barcelona is really interesting. We were only there for a couple of days unfortunately .

Just for the record , I would never say to someone don't buy an expensive car, If people have the money and that's the way they want to spend it , good for them

If I was inclined it would be probably be something like an old Merc or Jag rather than a new car. Do have a bit of a soft spot for the Tesla roadster though !

old cars are great. the problem is the up keep. cold starts, services and the inability to find replacement parts
