Marc Ballum has teamed up with Hybrid Theory for a compelling new EP, Grime Alarm, on the ever excellent Wearhouse Music.
From pulsing, African rhythm tinged electro house coated din plenty of white noise to the wobbliest, heaviest dubstep you’ll have heard in a long time via skanking, chain saw beats and more direct, driving and propulsive tech house, the EP is alive with the sound of contemporary electronica and will no doubt breathe just as much life into any dancefloor worth its salt.
Another solid release with plenty of destructive dancefloor capabilities, the Grime Alarm EP marks Ballum out as one to keep an eye on, that’s for sure.

Handpicked by Kissy Sell Out to remix one of the tracks on his new label release is Marc Ballum – a fast rising producer and remixer who had previous success as Housesick.
What he turns in here is an energetic, busy wedge of electro bassline propelled club music alive with colour, synths, energy and percussive explosions: chopped up vocals and rip-saw sounds make it perfect rave fodder for those peak time dance floors.
Support has always been generous for Marc and his productions and has come from the likes of Radio 1, Rico Tubbs and Micky Slim. Once the world hears his latest effort, that support is surely only likely to grow.

Having made waves in a partnership as Housesick, Reading born Marc Ballum has now spread his wings and is producing great music under his own name. Testament to that is this new remix for Ho Ju Records….
It’s a funked –up cut with huge breakdowns and massive basslines all pumping for maximum dancefloor destruction. It fits in with the current mash-up of sounds you hear on many a dancefloor and will not fail to have people raving with their hands in the air like they just don’t care.
