Hot Pink Delorean – Watch the Sunrise on Delorean Music Company
Following on from the success of their Kissy Sell Out backed last single, Boston’s Hot Pink Delorean (aka Chris Barlow, Jon Spero and Matt Simmers) are back with two more killer singles on their own fledgling label, Hot Pink Delorian Music Company.
‘Blew Stell’ kicks off with a white noise eruption before a mechanical ticking winds up and up and continues to do so all the way through the track. A firm bass kick and colourful chords flesh out the track before it breaks to a fax tone melody and explodes once again into a funky machine beat.
Watch The Sunrise is a much more contemplative track tinged with a sci-fi futurism and plenty of deep space atmospherics. Until the breakdown that is, when hugely emotive synths ripple out and it becomes impossible not to wave your hands in the air.
