Warren's Balance was him doing what he does best - a collection of great tracks, well programmed, and music that you remember and want to listen to again.

Saiz's is him mucking about on a laptop and putting out 2 cd's of his own tracks. Way too arty for me.

^^^ I have heard so many Djs try to do what Henry does "mucking around with his laptop " and fail miserably !! Believe me I hate all this arty chinstroker shit, like "intelligent" music, "forwarding thinking music" stuff!! Music isn't intelligent and it doesn't think. . But I totally get this album in a really basic way.

I would love to agree with your opinion on Nick's Balance, there are some great tracks on it, but unfortunately I am not playing it . Probably still bleeding because he didn't use the original Buenos Aires

Exactly. I keep playing that CD2 over, and over again.. I don't know if I will be doing the same with Saiz's CD1

            Re: Henry Saiz 'Balance 019'

After hearing the album twice, I must say
the CD 1 is my favorite, good tunes, some Spanish influence in the middle. some downtempo tracks very entertaining to listen.
CD2 not understand it. many noises with bases almost impersiptibles, i not find a line that keep the cd in harmony. not saying it's bad, but do not quite convince me.

            My favorite the CD 1

I'm going back to listen to see if my opinion changes.

I still haven't listened to Saiz... saving it for the weekend which is tough as the CD is just sitting there unopened!

But I agree with your opinion on 018 DIDI... As much as I want to like it, it's just not up to the standard I was expecting. It's kind of boring.

^^^ I do like the 2nd disc, and I'm sure I will get back to it at some stage. Bit of a shame they came so close together, I might have taken more time to get to know Nick's album.

                          sorry your reaction is funny.

I think this is a grower. I'm more partial to CD2 at this point. On the whole Balance 019 is sounding pretty fresh and musical. What throws me off a bit is the pacing I think, I don't know, something about the programming makes it feel drifty or random, but other people probably like the up and down.

This is growing on me also. Still a few tracks on both cds that I don't work in the mix though.

tried this mix again today. Cant get into it all. That chipmunk track on the first cd must be the worst piece of music on a balance cd thus far
