    Dave Attell

Saw Dave last night at the Improv in Orlando. Funny, funny guy. I'm in love with 'Insomniac' and love the premise of the show. I was a bit disappointed that his set was only ~30 minutes. Show began at 8:00 w/ the M.C. and then 2 feature acts: Brian Kaufman & Chris Porter. Dave took the stage at about 9:15 and was finished by 9:45.

On a side note. If anyone ever gets the chance (or has seen him) Chris Porter is by far one of the top 3 funniest people I've ever seen. His humor is a bit crude at times, but his delivery is top notch. Some of his mannerisms remind me a bit of Harland Williams (who he happens to be friends with). Unfortunately he doesn't have a website, but I do know that he's from St. Louis and will be back in Orlando soon for one night only. Definitely see this guy if you get the chance. "Hell yeah..."

Yeah Dave Atell is one funny son of a bitch. And I agree, he has one of the best deliveries.

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

Saw Dane last August and he was incredible. Had a great supporting cast too. I was going to take my brother for his bachelor party this past April but Dane had a scheduling conflict so he had to cancel his shows. Latest news is he's filming a pilot for a television show...hopefully that will pan out. He was right though, about one of his bits, I have to this day never been able to walk past a sounding car alarm without thinking that it's actually singing a song. Unfortunately, the joke typed out and my delivery on [ms] doesn't do the bit justice. Hilarious!

Word! I didn't think anyone would know what the hell I was talking about! Actually the guy that opened for him while he was on tour (his name escapes me right this second) is a contestant on that "Last Comic Standing" reality show. He was a pretty funny dude. I'll have to dig up his name...

I love this guys "Insomniac" show no Comedy Central. Too bad it's not on HBO so then there wouldn't be as much editing for network TV.
