I used to lash out alot, get very angry. now, I try to take it easy be a little more patient. for instance if i am walking and i notice i am walking fast i will purposely slow down. Progressive music is alright but even still it can get a little bit aggrevating after a while if you are that streesed out. You living in spain, if you are at all near barcelona, should go chill in ciutadella park or walk by the water. Walking around helps sometimes. Drinking or drugs will help but only temporarily, then immediately after you are still screwed if not worse, then the next time you look for a release it will be along the same lines, so you shoudlnt try to get into a habit of that shit. Going out to dance is good to. Go late (or early inthe morn) however you look at it, and just chill without drugs and relax and clear your mind. I get a shrink every now and then, but you have to sort the out like you are hiring someone, bc that is what you doing more or less. One thing is for sure, if you clear your mind and have no preconcieved notions of what is wrong or right, good or bad, then everything will come to you brand new like a child's mind. That helps too, if nothing else works go beat the shit out of someone you really dislike. good luck

I have to agree with that, after 90 minutes of lifting I dont have any energy to be stressed. If that does not help, I stop myself for a second and just telll myself "you are alive, you feeling ok, you better than anybody! What the fuck you have to be stressed about?" Usually works for me!

Re: What do you do to kill your stress?

I agree with working out. I was stressed for no reason the other night and hit the gym for the first time in weeks and felt much better.

Playing records and/or DJing takes my mind off other things too. I'm too busy trying to beatmatch and decide what tunes to play that it takes my mind off anything else.

did you get one of those new minds that doubles as a shovel, with the optional extender handle sold separately?

True Stress has a root cause... I have found for myself it's usually me being wrapped up or tied to a commitment that is eiher mandatory, or I am smothering my creativity input and/or output.

"there's nothing quite like being reminded you still have the ablility to surprise yourself"

Remember this... things you feel tied down to, and that are "impossible" to remove from your life, may be farther away than they appear in your mind. I'm fascinated by how simple being at peace is for me. I stopped ignoring the stress, looked at the cause as the pair of shoes that give me the blisters every time, and finally ditched the shoes that looked perfect instead of wasting time and money on socks, band-aids, and"pain killers".

I never wanted to sound like a hippie or a space cadet, or make things sound so simplistic or fantastic in theory... it bugged the shit out of me...

                              Just fuckin do it!

                                Beat the g/f

Actually once I leave work the stress goes away. But seeing the g/f when i get home helps.
