Incredible talent, the mysterious classically-trained minimal artist behind the D1, D3, D5 releases.
Main Stage - Live at Infiné Week, Paris
Arandel
Infiné, France
Arandel must be the most mysterious act on Infiné, shunning any personal visibility, leaving all biographical information by the roadside and relying instead on a strong theoretical element and beautifully constructed music. His album 'In D' is a nod of the head towards Terry Riley's legendary piece of minimalism 'In C' while he further imposed restrictions on himself by relying on sounds that were physically recorded, with no midi used in the sequencing process. Far from being a theoretical exercise, his music instead develops a vision of techno with a heavy krautrock drive to it and shadows of jazz and modern classical music drifting in through the windows. This set recorded live at the Infiné Week in Paris shows how far this concept can be taken in the live realm.
