James will be on first, then Switch vs. McGuyver, then Mal Chia.

It's around 4 hours this time around. James' makes up 1/3 of that, since I'm sure that's the next question.

I wish we could have used more of the NYE set, but - as you probably know - James is very picky about the technical parts of his sets. But it was all recorded, so maybe people could lobby him for more to be released?

My personal opinion is the section that's chosen is the part that translates best to at-home listening. James is very much a 'live' act, and some of the energy he brings doesn't always come off quite as well in a recorded format, without the context of a packed club to really show it in its best light. But that is absolutely not the case with the section being used on this show. I've stopped listening to the full set, and am only listening to this part because it's perfect for that.

And yes - it includes the midnight NYE section

This is true. And I would suggest you don't bother ripping it eh?

(I hate stream-rips going around of my show when there's a chance of higher quality options to be had further down the track.)

other options like what?? i can't be bothered to wait for someone else to rip it, release it and then wait for the download to finish... besides, who said it's gonna sound any worse! i think i'll even snatch my bro's Audigy just to have this in 32 bit!

well, two parts of your message.

                          1. how come james is very picky about the technical parts of his sets? if any of us could pull something 10% that quality (and LIVE), i guess they would be glad to share it with everyone
Even if the sets has some technical mess-ups, its LIVE... that's the best.. i don't want to listen a robot mixing.. i want to listen the guy, the one that can do a mistake and correct them too. that's the magic of live sets imho.

                          2. Since i saw james play at pacha buenos aires, felt the energy coming from the crowd (i was starring amazed next to the booth how did the guy work), every time i listen jz live it brings me to that day, those sensations. Like the day he played in creamfields argentina and dropped Innercity life, one of the tracks i've wanted to listen live for long.

so, that's why we should ask him to release the full set after is aired on .audio

Because I recorded it, and I have the original DATs straight off the mixer. I can assure you my copies are better quality than a 128k stream-rip and if there's another release done, it will come off my original.

Well, I'm not James and I can't answer for him! I agree with his selection though, and I guess you don't get to be as good as he is by compromising on your standards?

Is now the time to mention that I recorded him back to back with Phil K a few weeks later? Now that's sure worth lobbying for release!

sounds great, but i don't like that if. and btw, you can be sure i won't be spreading this transmission over any p2p and what not, but you can bet there are others who will. would be sweet to see a high quality release from you Grant.

someone start a thread requesting James' sets to be released, at least as [ms] special downloads or something...
